If you’re a critical thinking conservative, you can’t help but be disappointed in Senator Ted Cruz’s disturbing remarks about Donald Trump and the senator’s shameless politically motivated comments in attempting to somehow tie Trump to the carnage in Brussels.

Cruz no doubt is a “politically motivated” individual, and apparently saw an opening to blame Trump for the terrorist attacks in Brussels, saying:

“Well, I will say, it is striking that the day after Donald Trump called for America weakening NATO withdrawing from NATO we see Brussels, where NATO is headquartered, the subject of a radical Islamist terrorist attack.

Donald Trump is wrong that America should withdraw from the world and abandon our allies. Donald Trump is wrong that America should retreat from Europe, retreat from NATO, hand Putin a major victory and while he’s at it, hand ISIS a major victory.”

This is something that I'd expect from John Kasich, but Ted Cruz??

The “political establishment” of which (despite his claims to the contrary), Cruz belongs too is the reason why Trump keeps winning.

Cruz no doubt is a smart guy, and understands the Constitution like no other, and unlike Trump is an all too rigid conservative, seemingly unmovable and joyless and perhaps unable to compromise in the tradition of a Ronald Reagan.

Moreover attempting to politicize a tragedy for political gain usually reminds conservatives of why a political outsider is the undisputed front-runner.
