Authorities investigating the axe attack on a German commuter train are shedding light on the motives of the 17-year-old Afghan immigrant who slashed and hacked his way through the car full of passengers as he shouted “Allahu Akbar!” despite the efforts of the media to suppress the information.

Although witnesses told police the attacker, who has not yet been identified, was yelling the battle cry of Islamic jihadists as he slashed at victims with an axe and a large knife, the German press continues to claim that “his motive is unknown” saying they don’t want to “jump to conclusions.”

ISIS has already taken responsibility for the attacks and called the Afghan teenager one of their fighters, and a video posted by the Islamic State in which the attacker urged others to take up weapons against non-Muslims and “kill these infidels in the countries that you live in.”

The video, which shows the teenager holding a knife that may be one of the weapons used in the train stabbings, was deemed to be authentic by the Bavarian security office.

The teenager entered the country as an “unaccompanied minor” and had lived in a refugee camp until he was taken into the home of the German foster family that had taken the refugee into its home just two weeks before the rampage.

An especially chilling part of the video was directed to the foster family, as the teenage jihadist jeered, “You can see I have lived in your own home and have planned to behead you in your own territory,

A search of his belongings at the family’s home revealed a handmade ISIS flag along with a handwritten note that read, “Pray for me that I can take revenge on these infidels and pray for me that I will go to heaven.”

Still, the liberal press, following the narrative established by Chancellor Angela Merkel in her push to open the borders of Europe to Middle Eastern immigrants, remain cautious – and seemingly baffled by the motive of the attacker.

Of the 25 commuters in the train car, 15 were injured and another three were hospitalized in critical condition with injuries consistent with slashing and stabbing.

The youth was greeted on the train, minutes before the attack, by an employee at the refugee shelter that had taken him in, but he ignored her and moved to a different train car to carry out the attack.
