Democrat candidate Hillary Clinton and her campaign wasted no time in attacking her opponent, Donald Trump, for a comment they considered “trash talking American generals,” during NBC’s “Commander-in-Chief Forum,” going so far as to say they rendered him “unqualified to be commander-in-chief.”

Clinton’s quick and disingenuous outrage ignores one crucial and irrefutable fact – her own vicious attack on highly decorated Gen. David Petraeus straight to his face in Congressional hearings.

Trump’s supposed “trash talk” consisted of a criticism, not of the military, but of Obama and Clinton.

“The generals under Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton have not been successful. Under the leadership of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton the generals have been reduced to rubble, reduced to a point where it is embarrassing for our country...I have great faith in the military. I have great faith in certain of the commanders, certainly. But I have no faith in Hillary Clinton or the leadership.”

Hardly “trash talk,” especially considering that the opinion – that Obama has eviscerated the upper echelon of the military by replacing seasoned generals who expect to speak their minds with compliant “yes men,” is shared by other retired generals forced out by Obama, like General Michael Flynn.

Flynn has gone on the record as saying, “there’s a severe disconnect between this White House and frankly the president and our military.”

But what makes Clinton’s attack on Trump so typically hypocritical is a review of her words to Gen. David Petraeus in 2007 in a U.S. Senate hearing on the troop surge in Iraq when she, like most Democrats, were pushing Obama’s plan for an announced withdrawal.

“Despite what I view is your rather extraordinary efforts in your testimony both yesterday and today, I think that the reports that you provide to us really require a willing suspension of disbelief.”

There’s Democrat candidate Hillary Clinton calling a highly decorated general, with a chest full of “fruit-salad” as soldiers call the medals and ribbons worn on their uniforms, nothing short of a liar.

It’s almost as if she not only forgets what she says, but then forgets that comments live forever via the “magic” of videotape.

It’s just more of the same Clinton logic: It’s treason if you say it, but it’s patriotism if I say it.
