“I think I can say, and say with pride, that we have some legislatures that bring higher prices than any in the world.” No doubt if author and humorist Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain) were alive today, that notable quote of his would fit very nicely in describing Democratic Rep. Corrine Brown who is currently facing a laundry list of felony charges.

The congresswoman currently represents Florida’s 5th congressional district is facing more than 20-counts of fraud, for a variety of criminal infractions, including using a non-profit front organization and a phony scholarship as a personal financial slush fund, raising in excess of over $800,000 of which only $1,000 was actually awarded.

Moreover, Rep. Brown is attempting to solicit on-line donations for her legal defense, and of course Brown is attempting to play the race card, suggesting to her supporters that she’s being prosecuted by sinister forces whose only concern is to bring down a powerful black woman.

Astoundingly Rep. Brown is attempting to link her malfeasance and corruption to those brave police officers who were targeted and gunned down in Dallas saying:

“During my entire political career, I have fought racism, injustice and advocated for individuals who normally get left behind, it should come as no surprise that some took offense to my efforts to stand up for you.”

No doubt if humorist Samuel Clemens were alive today, he might have dusted off another of Twain’s notable quotes: “It could probably be shown by facts and figures that there is no distinctly native American criminal class except Congress.”
