The situation on the U.S.-Mexico border has already turned deadly this summer, as an illegal alien attacked a Border Patrol agent on June 9 in the Yuma Sector in Arizona.

According to sources in U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the unidentified border agent was alone when he spotted three men illegally entering the United States by crossing the Colorado River.

When confronted, one of the illegals reached for the agent’s gun, and the agent moved to prevent him from gaining control of the weapon.

The agent was able to respond with appropriate deadly force in self-defense, but not until after sustaining injuries, including a serious laceration above his right eye, when the illegal grabbed the agent’s radio and baton, using them to beat the agent in the head.

The dead man has not been identified, as he did not have identification, but Border Patrol sources say they are confident the attacker was an illegal alien.

The attack in the Yuma Sector in Arizona is not far from the site where Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry, a U.S. Marine veteran, was killed in a December 2010 gun battle by illegals armed with weapons tied to the Obama administration’s botched “Fast and Furious” operation.

Terry’s family has endured years of frustration as the government has refused to respond to their questions about its failure to maintain control of weapons it deliberately placed in the hands of Mexican cartel members, which eventually found their way to crime scenes in the U.S. and Mexico.

The family has endorsed the presumptive Republican nominee for the presidency, Donald Trump, who met with them at the site of a statue of the fallen agent, and promised answers to their questions if he is elected.

Kent Terry, told Breitbart, “Mr. Trump is very sincere about Brian’s death. Yes, he promised us if he becomes president, he will open the books on Fast and Furious. He has my vote!”
