After reports last spring that liberal actor and staunch anti-Trump activist George Clooney was making plans to abandon his European lifestyle and move back to the United States, it appears that he is ready to come home.

The actor and his wife, human rights lawyer Amal Clooney, have preferred living abroad on an estate in England and in an Italian villa, but since the birth of their twins in June, they have been vocal about their concerns for the safety of the children in the volatile and violent atmosphere of Europe.

The couple may have been motivated by the recent attacks in England by Islamic terrorists struck innocents at pop concert in Manchester and on London Bridge.

Clooney, who hosted a fundraiser for Hillary Clinton during the 2016 presidential campaign – offering tickets to the dinner for between $33,400 and $353,400 each – admitted the amount was “obscene,” but necessary to prevent Donald Trump from being elected.

Calling Trump a “xenophobic fascist, and an “opportunist,” the actor described Trump’s immigration proposals as “idiotic” and “intolerant.”

The open borders advocate who has tight security around his own homes, calls the president a “fascist” for wanting to build a secure wall at the U.S. border.

The power couple has repeatedly called the move to erect the border wall as “not representative of American values,” but apparently taking appropriate measures to protect his own family is perfectly acceptable.

Clooney is promoting his new film about a white neighborhood faced with integration in the 1950s as inspired by Donald Trump.

“The genesis of the screenplay [came when] I was watching a lot of [Trump] speeches on the campaign trail about building fences and scapegoating minorities.”

It may well be, however, that Clooney has another motive behind the move back to America.

When asked if he would consider running for president, he replied, “Oh, that sounds like fun. Can I just say that I’d like anybody to be the next president of the United States? Right away, please.”

Do you think it is hypocritical of movie stars to advocate for open borders while having tight security around their own homes to protect their families?
