CITIZENS’ PETITION URGING THE REPUBLICAN PARTY TO SUPPORT THE NOMINATION OF DONALD TRUMP
CITIZENS’ PETITION URGING THE REPUBLICAN PARTY TO SUPPORT THE NOMINATION OF DONALD TRUMP AS THE REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE for PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES IN 2016
On June 16, 2015 Donald Trump announced his decision to campaign for the Republican nomination for the office of president of the United States in the November 2016 election.
Trump has never served in public office. His candidacy was ridiculed by commentators who refused to take his candidacy seriously pointing to his status as a highly visible billionaire real estate mogul and television personality.
Certain media outlets announced their intention to deliberately ignore Trump’s candidacy by refusing to report on his speeches or request interviews.
Others actively targeted Trump with personal attacks while providing positive coverage to his Republican rivals for the nomination.
Most of those candidates are established politicians who have made derogatory and insulting remarks about Trump and his campaign for the nomination they are also seeking.
Trump took his bold message of optimism directly to the American people, bypassing the establishment and the media and ignoring the critics.
The American people responded with enthusiasm and unprecedented support, which are reflected in poll numbers putting him in first place among all 17 Republicans seeking the party’s nomination.
He is not a professional politician – he is his own man.
Trump is not influenced by special interest groups or lobbyists. He is not dependent on the financial support of a “Super PAC” that will dictate his policies and actions if he is elected president.
Trump represents America’s strength – an independent spirit and can-do attitude.
He is not afraid to speak his mind without regard to politically correct phrases and pre-approved statements.
He has shaken the power structure and challenged the status quo in Washington.
The American people are tired of professional politicians and demand a new type of leader and Trump is the candidate who is responding to America’s call for a new type of leadership.
So far, the Republican party has refused to acknowledge a Trump candidacy as the best and possibly only way to regain the White House in 2016 and set the country on a new path of strength, optimism and prosperity.
We, the undersigned, therefore urge the Republican party to support Donald Trump as the nominee for the presidency of the United States in the 2016 election.
