Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee for president, has been focused this week on gaining the endorsement of Speaker of the House Paul Ryan, considering a choice of running mate and nominees to replace the late Justice Antonin Scalia on the Supreme Court, so he can be forgiven if he failed to notice the threat made by a pop culture comedian to leave the country if Trump is elected in November.

Chelsea Handler, who is better known for her sometimes vulgar comedy on television and in books such as, My Horizontal Life: A Collection of One-Night Stands, which detailed her real-life sexual adventures, says she has bought a home abroad and is ready to leave America.

“I did buy a house in another country just in case, so all of these people who threaten to leave the country and then don’t, I will leave the country,” she said, in a tortured sentence.

In fact, the comedian, an apparent Obama fan, went a step farther, joking, “After Barack Obama, I’m just going to blow my head up.”

Handler joins a chorus of Hollywood stars who have not been content to merely voice support for Democrat candidates Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders, but have felt the need to resort to hyperbole to describe the dire consequences of a Trump presidency.

Jennifer Lawrence says a Trump presidency would be, “the end of the world,” while Johnny Depp went on the record to predict Trump would be “the last president of America.”

But while the stars suggested that Trump’s candidacy is a joke or an ego-trip, the now-presumptive nominee is turning his attention to more weighty matters, including the formation of a panel to study immigration issues – and the fall campaign against Hillary Clinton.

Handler may find herself packing up in November.
