Can You Guess What Percent Of US Guns Are Involved In Homicides?
We 2nd Amendment supporters are well aware of the fact that guns do not kill people. People kill people.
We also know that death as a result of intent to kill with a gun is pretty miniscule. However, in light of the recent terrorist attack in San Bernardino, California, and the president’s “nothing new” Oval office address on Sunday, December 6th, 2015, readers should be made aware of how small that fraction of murder-by-shooter actually is.
It is less than 1 percent.
In fact, it is so much less than 1% it is hard to understand why it seems to be taking up all the oxygen in the room, and a pretty significant amount of President Obama’s time.
The actual number checks in at 0.0004%. That is 1 out of 25,000 murders, by being shot, committed each year. That is not a lot.
In fact, you have a greater chance of winning some sort of lottery prize than you do of being shot to death.
The United States Census Bureau reports that there are 242.5-Million legal-aged eligible gun owners in the country; 18+ for a rifle, and 20+ for a handgun, generally speaking. Looking at recent numbers, in the year 2013, there were 11,208 homicide out of 109-Million actual gun owners. This is 0.0001%, or 1/10,000, which is a far cry for the extraordinary gun-violence you would think is gripping the nation.
Let’s face it, there is a clear agenda here. It is to destroy the 2nd Amendment. Obama made it very clear when he campaigned the first time that he wanted to change the fabric of this nation, and he is doing just that.
He is a liberal left-winger and as we all know there is no talking logic with these people. Facts do not matter to them, they just get in the way of whatever their ambition is.
