California Sen. Scott Weiner is the author of legislation that would make the willful incorrect use of transgender pronouns a crime in nursing homes and intermediate care facilities in California.

Don't believe in transgender identity on religious or moral grounds?

Keep it to yourself if you don't want to offend anyone in California.

But refuse to use transgender pronouns in public, pay a fine or go to jail.

This unthinkable Orwellian scenario is rapidly working its way through the California General Assembly in the form of horrific legislation that would make violators subject to a $1,000 fine or a year in prison.

Sen. Scott Weiner (D-CA) is the author of the "Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgenders Long-Term Facility Residents Bill of Rights."

The bill, in its proposed limited form, would apply to nursing homes and intermediate care facilities.

So, if this Soviet-inspired legislation passes in the California legislature, grandma or grandpa would have to pay a steep fine or face jail time if they refuse to say "he" is a "she."

"Everyone is entitled to their religious view," Weiner said. "But when you enter the public space, when you are running an institution, you are in a work place, you are in a civil setting and you have to follow the law."

Sorry, Weiner (love your threads, by the way), but in the public domain freedom of speech rules. It is a right guaranteed to every U.S. citizen under the First Amendment and not by closet autocrats like yourself.

You can be sure that the icy ripple effect following passage of this unconstitutional legislation will be felt across the entire totalitarian state of California.

“How can you believe in free speech, but think the government can compel people to use certain pronouns when talking to others?” Greg Burt of the California Family Council testified in July.

“This is not tolerance. This is not love. This is not mutual respect," he added. "True tolerance tolerates people with different views. We need to treat each other with respect, but respect is a two-way street. It is not respectful to threaten people with punishment for having sincerely held beliefs that differ from your own.”

Truer words have never been said. But just don't get caught saying them in public in the likely event this bill becomes law in the California Socialist Republic.

Do you support California's secession from the United States to prevent the further spread of homegrown Marxist tyranny?
