Donald Trump is a fan of the "Penny Plan." Considering the man has made his billions by watching his own pennies and the dollars that follow, it is safe to say he has firsthand experience with its success.

What is the Penny Plan, you ask? It is a budgeting practice that has been suggested by conservative politicians, pundits, and even some of the candidates. The plan requires that a single penny, 1-cent, be cut from every dollar that is included in each federal department budget for the next five years.

The end result is some pennies-on-the-dollar savings in spending that would go a long way toward ending the ever increasing budget deficit.

“I like the concept of the Penny Plan,” said Trump.

Who wouldn’t? “It’s a pretty good plan,” not only that but, “it’s a pretty simple plan” Trump said, while visiting Sean Hannity on Fox News. Trump is an advocate for the Penny Plan with the exception of one department; “Not for the military, because the military we have to build up.”

Damn straight. That has to strike fear into the hearts of every liberal all across the country, and certainly those in Congress. But, wait. Trump is not done. He has plans for a couple of other departments, and we are not talking pennies when it comes to cuts.

“I may cut Department of Education,” Trump stated in October, 2015.  He believes Common Core to be what it is—crap; “I believe Common Core is a very bad thing.”

He would like to see education managed at the state or local level. He would also make cuts to the Environmental Protection Agency. Now there’s a militant organization we can all get behind a budgetary cut for, right?

Donald Trump. Love him or hate him, it is hard to disagree with the idea of some fiscal management and a return to military might (EPA and DoE cuts being nothing more than bonuses).
