President Trump has been in a dispute with James Comey after he fired the now former FBI Director. The issue is that Trump insists he was told face to face in a dinner meeting with Comey that there was no active FBI investigation into Trump's campaign involvement with Russia's attempts to influence the election.

'He said it once at dinner and then he said it twice during phone calls,'

'I said, "If it's possible would you let me know, am I under investigation?" Trump said.
'He said, "You are not under investigation".'

James Comey has stated that he never said such a thing. Now Trump is issuing a not so subtle warning to Comey that he can prove that Comey is lying.

'James Comey better hope that there are no "tapes" of our conversations before he starts leaking to the press!' the president tweeted.

Comey has been asked to testify at an upcoming Senate panel.

While it is not perfectly clear what Trump may be hinting at by mentioning tapes of his conversation with Comey it is perfectly clear what he means. Comey needs to admit that he reassured Trump repeatedly that there was no FBI investigation into him or his campaign and going back on his word is the reason he got canned.

Trump has claimed that Comey was the one who requested the dinner with him in order to try and keep his job.
