It doesn’t take a math wizard or a political annalist to recognize the obvious, that Donald Trump has become the candidate to beat, and is now the frontrunner in Sen. Ted Cruz’s backyard with an astounding 24% while Cruz drops to second place with a respectable 16%.

The phenomena that is Trump who was once considered a side joke only months ago by the political establishment, however no one seems to be laughing now.

All one needs to do is look at the incredible crowds Trump seems to generate, while candidates like Texas Gov. Rick Perry seem to all but evaporate, polling just 4% alongside Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, while drawing few crowds.

A group called the Texas Bipartisan Justice Committee, commissioned a poll to see just how the candidates rate within the Lone Star State, the poll conducted by Gravis Marketing showed a solid 20% for Cruz, and a respectable 12% for former governor Perry, however that was back in June, just 2-months ago, and before The Donald actually got into the race.

Since then the world according to Trump has become the hottest ticket in town.

Texas will hold its primary on Super Tuesday March 1, along with nine other, mostly southern states.
