Here’s a wild idea. How about instead of promoting success among our military contracting companies, we foster a climate of demise?

Then, for fun, we encourage the purchase of said company, by our militaristic enemies, the Chinese? Woo Woo!

Not so fast, says the only person with a brain in the room, California Representative, Duncan Hunter (Republican).

He is asking Treasure Secretary, and Chariman of the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States, Jack Lew, to reconsider this boondoggle with potentially disastrous consequences.

“It has come to my attention that Terex Corporation, an American Company that manufactures heavy equipment, including cranes for the Army, Navy and other government agencies, has received an unsolicited takeover bid,” Wrote Hunter, to Lew.

He continued, "the fact that a leading PLA (People’s Liberation Army) supplier [Zoomlion] is seeking to purchase an American company [Terex Corporation] that provides critical infrastructure equipment to a number of government agencies, including the Department of Defense and the Department of Homeland Security, demands that the agreement undergo thorough scrutiny if it does materialize.

Which, let’s just say, it shouldn’t materialize. Nor should an American company even have the gall to consider selling out our nation, and our military, to a potential enemy. Disgusting.

Here is to hoping Hunter can bring about a decent and meaningful investigation into this situation. To include Zoomlion’s interest and Terex Corporation’s reasoning.
