Tsunami Warning Issued After Quake hits Japan off Fukushima | A 6.9-magnitude earthquake has been reported in Fukushima, Japan, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS). Tremors from the earthquake could be felt as far away as Tokyo. Hazardous tsunami waves are possible for parts of Japan's east coast within 300 kilometers (about 186 miles) of the earthquake's epicenter, the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said. There is no tsunami threat to Hawaii.

Fukushima's Iwaki City shore is detecting a tsunami now, according to the Japan Broadcasting Corp. (NHK), which is broadcasting a live shot from the city's Onahama port. A 2-foot-high tsunami was observed at the post at 6:49 a.m. local time.
