Bradley Cooper’s Award Acceptance Speech Shows True Class With These 4 Words Dedicated To Chris Kyle
While the Hollywood elite did their best to snub “American Sniper” at the Oscar’s, those who truly counted “the fans”, showed their support for the film by making it the highest grossing film of 2014, and reaching a box-office milestone of over $500 million dollars worldwide.
And although politics seemed to be the driving force at the Oscar’s this time around Bradley Cooper took home the "golden popcorn" at this year MTV Movie Awards, for his portrayal of Chris Kyle.
Cooper won the award for Best Male Performance for his role in the hit film that tells the story of the most lethal sniper in U.S. history.
"I want to thank MTV and the fans ... It's because of you, you brought awareness to the men and women and their families in the military and what they do for us on a daily basis," Cooper said.
In accepting the award Cooper dedicated it to Kyle, who was murdered in 2013, and went on to say; "Chris Kyle would have turned 41 four days ago. Chris, this is for you."
In the best actor category, Cooper beat out Chris Pratt ("Guardians of the Galaxy"), Ansel Elgort ("The Fault in Our Stars"), Channing Tatum ("Foxcatcher") and Miles Teller ("Whiplash") to take home the "golden popcorn."
