When I first read through the research material to write this brief article I immediately assumed it was a joke, perhaps someone in the editorial department was having a little fun, a simple harmless prank at my expense, after all this is a sitting “judge”, a “learned man”, and certainly not a “race baiter”, well I stand corrected. Louisville Judge Olu Stevens who happens to also be black has given two "ARMED” home invaders a light sentence, by granting them probation, saying they “deserved the opportunity to redeem themselves” because he feels that the three-year old child was a “racist” because in the child’s “victim statement” this little girl said she is now afraid of "black people".

This lunacy continued with an outrageous statement from the bench, when the judge verbally attacked the tiny toddler and her parents for being “racist”, and had the audacity to call this child’s statement “disturbing”, and if this incident couldn’t become even more bizarre, the judge was actually more concerned for the armed robbers brandishing a gun and threatening the child, and annoyed at the little girl for being traumatized.

However the insanity didn’t end there and what apparently set this judge into overdrive was the parents “victims impact statement” which was entered into evidence; “Whenever we are running errands, if we come across a black male, she holds me tight and begs me to leave. It has affected her friendships at school and our relationships with African-American friends.”

The outrageous and bizarre antics of Judge Olu Stevens continued right up to sentencing and rather than admonishing the thugs, Judge Stevens again took another opportunity to attack the victims; “I am offended, I am deeply offended that they would be victimized by an individual and express some kind of fear of all black men,” he said.

“This little girl certainly has been victimized, and she can’t help the way she feels,” he said. “My exception is more with her parents and their accepting that kind of mentality and fostering those type of stereotypes.” Obviously wearing a black robe of a judge is no guarantee that the person wearing it isn’t an IDIOT.
