Dr. Ben Carson, Republican presidential candidate, had the opportunity to speak at the Celebration of Creation (2012). During his address, he spoke to the theory of evolution.

It is important to remember that despite all that is shoved down our, and our children's throats in school, and regardless of your faith or lack thereof, the concept of evolution of species is a theory. A theory is not a fact. It is an idea put forth to attempt to explain the inexplicable.

Such is the case with the theory of evolution and those ideas put forth by Charles Darwin. As a Christian, Dr. Ben Carson’s takeaway is two-fold. First, he accurately points out that the theory of evolution is a modern concept.

In consideration of the age of the planet, whether you count the years Biblically or not, he is correct. Second, Carson’s take on what influenced Darwin to come up with his theories are this;

“A lot of people believe in God, but I personally believe that this theory that Darwin came up with was something that was encouraged by the adversary.”

By adversary, you can insert whatever word works for you to mean Satan, the Devil, the Great Deceiver, Father of Lies, and so forth. Carson also points out that some of the greatest minds that the world has ever known believed in God, to include Sir Isaac Newton and Albert Einstein.

In his approach to discussing evolution, Carson has some novel plans that are sure to garner the attention of Christian and non-Christian alike.

“One of the things I’m hoping to do over the next few years, one of the books coming up on my dock, is called The Organ of Species. Not the Origin of Species, The Organ of Species, and we’re going to talk about the organs of the body and how they completely refute evolution, and several other things as well.”

He wants to present a counter-argument to the theory of evolution and all the “technical terms to define technical situations” and make it easy to digest, and easy to argue in the advance of Creationism.

Dr. Carson is such a breath of fresh air. It is so uplifting and inspiring to see a man who is not afraid to share his faith and philosophies on the public stage-unashamed and proud. Should he with the election, we will surely have a steadfast man in office.
