Citing the number of abortions that have taken place in America since Roe v. Wade, Evangelical Christian author Joel Rosenberg spoke about the coming judgement that was due for America for the murders committed in the country through abortions.

Rosenberg gave his address to a crowd of more than 600 church leaders and pastors gathered for the "Watchmen on the Wall" conference in Washington, D.C.

Speaking of problems that America is facing, he said that America's rising debt, its crime rate, its divorce rate, and America's drug problems don't come close to the problem of abortion. "We have murdered 57 million babies in this country," Rosenberg said.

Though Rosenberg has worked some in the political sector, he is most known for his novels about the middle east, terrorism, and the end of the world. His novels, several of which have become best sellers on the New York Times best seller list, focus on rising threats of terrorism and Islam, and are widely popular.

Rosenberg may have tapped into that apocalyptic spirit when he pronounced woe upon the United States for not stopping abortions. He compared the number of aborted children in the United States to the number of Jews that were killed during the Holocaust, saying that when the number reaches 60 million abortions Americans will "have murdered 10 times more human beings than the number of Jews who were murdered by the Nazis."

Though Rosenberg's take on the issue of abortion is black and white, it will take someone with political dexterity to work to solve the issue, which has now morphed into an issue of women's rights for many.

However, Rosenberg's call to action has hopefully stirred up feelings of more than anger in the Watchmen conference and will hopefully help bring about abortion reform and policy changes. If not, we can only hope that the judgement Rosenberg predicts will truly be just.
