If there is any truth to the old saying that you can tell a lot about someone by who they choose as friends, then we are learning more about Hillary Clinton than perhaps she might like.

In the latest disturbing development arising from the Huma Abedin-Anthony Weiner marriage, multiple agencies, including the FBI, the Manhattan Special Victims Squad and the Manhattan District Attorney's office have become involved in what may lead to federal or state criminal charges for the 52-year-old former congressman.

Abedin, Clinton’s closest advisor, who she has called “as close as a daughter,” recently separated from the disgraced politician after it was divulged that he was once again engaged in sexting – this time while he was in bed with the couple’s young child.

Now, officials are looking at his sexts, which they believe were sent to an underage girl beginning last January when the couple was still living together.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office has subpoenaed Weiner’s cell phone records in connection with sexually inappropriate images he sent to a 15-year-old high school sophomore in North Carolina, using the online sexting name, “T-Dog.”

The Abedin-Weiners have had close ties to the former First Couple, and President Bill Clinton presided over the couples’ marriage ceremony six-years ago, hosting the wedding reception at the Clinton family home.

Huma Abedin served an intern in the White House in the 1990s, and is never far from Hillary’s side, serving under her at both the State Department and the family Foundation concurrently, and presently as vice-chair of the presidential campaign.

Weiner resigned from Congress after revelations about his sexting obsession made the news in 2011, and abandoned a run for mayor of New York two years later after fresh sexting allegations arose.

The teenaged girl said Weiner asked her to “role play rape fantasies and perform sex acts on herself.”

New York Gov. Cuomo told reporters, “If the reports are true, it’s possibly criminal and it is sick. And frankly, I’ve heard enough about Anthony Weiner — and I think that goes for all New Yorkers.”

Republican nominee Donald Trump was supportive of Abedin when she separated from Weiner last month, saying she was “better off without him,” but has called on the Clinton campaign to return a donation from Weiner.

“The announcement by the FBI and New York Police Department that they are investigating close Clinton ally Anthony Weiner’s inappropriate relationship with an under-aged female is extremely disturbing. America has had enough of the sleaze that is Clinton, Inc.”
