ALERT: Senate Committee Extends Unprecedented Constitutional Rights To Foreign Muslim Immigrants
The “Nuclear Terrorism Conventions Implementation and Safety of Maritime Navigation Act of 2015 (S.138)” apparently has something to do with immigration policies. Actually, it didn’t until very recently when the morons, on both sides of the aisle, who sit on the Senate Judiciary Committee decided that foreigners, meaning Muslims, are entitled to laissez-faire immigration into the United States.
Our demented friend from Vermont, Senator Patrick Leahy put forth the following in the amendment;
“The United States must not bar individuals from entering into the United States based on their religion, as such action would be contrary to the fundamental principles on which this Nation was founded.”
What part of at war with radical Islam, does Leahy not understand?
The measure passed 16:4. Three Republican Senators voted against it; Ted Cruz, Jeff Sessions, and David Vitter. Everybody else voted for it, to include six Republicans, one of whom might surprise you; Mike Lee (UT). The rest of the roll-call can be read via the link.
The most important piece of this coming legislation is as fiercely opposing Senator Jeff Sessions (R-AL) put forth, is that the amendment is one of
“…unprecedented effort to extend American’s constitutional rights and protections to foreign citizens living in foreign countries.”
Meaning, a radical Islamist would be granted entrance to the country because we can’t violate a radical Islamists’ First Amendment by protecting ours.
The reason being is the new amendment makes it impossible to discriminate for those religiously persecuted.
A concept in complete contradiction to current refugee law that as Sessions pointed out;
“… requires us to consider persecution on account of an individual’s religion; this would ask us to discard, or undermine, that longstanding practice.
Sadly, as we have seen of late, we are well on our way to destroying that principle of freedom courtesy of those we elect.
