Al Sharpton Has A System He Uses To Avoid Paying His Taxes. When His Taxes Are Due He Closes His Company And Starts A New One At The Same Address… And He Has Done It Over And Over Again.
Some people believe in luck, others in good fortune, and even others believe in higher beings and deities. Sometimes, though, you just have to have the right name. Al Sharpton, the name that brings many other names to mind, not all repeatable in good company. In any case, the untouchable Al Sharpton is in a bit of hot water, yet again.
Apparently, Mr. Sharpton does not like to pay his taxes, but not just his personal taxes. He does not like paying his business taxes either. The US Herald reported last Friday, that The Untouchable Al has more than $4.5 million in state and federal tax liens against him and his for-profit businesses. The original report was from the vast right-wing, conspiratorial, tea-bagging … New York Times.
Oh, and the tax evasion was 'racism'. If only Al Capone thought of that.
There is another matter of him diverting non-profit funds to pay for his daughter's college tuition, but we won't even go into that. That is another story.
After that story broke from the ultra-right New York Times, you would imagine good old Al is being investigated. Well, you would be wrong. However, he did manage to get every single one of his for-profit business shut down. Jillian Melchior, of the National Review, reported that it has been one after the other. You might say, kind of like dominoes.
“One business after another has been shut down for failing to comply with tax rules. All of his entities shut down for failure to pay taxes or file tax paperwork, then they reopened. “
Not only can he not seem to pay his taxes, but he can not follow tax rules or file tax paperwork. Perhaps, he is allergic to anything with the word “tax” in it. The National Review has a more sophisticated report.
“Sharpton’s beleaguered for-profit entities often overlap and intertwine, some sharing ties with the reverend’s nonprofit organization, National Action Network. Their financial records are copious, confusing, and sometimes outright bizarre, and together, they depict persistent financial woes for Sharpton, who also personally owes New York State nearly $596,000, according to active tax warrants.”
New York’s Maier Markey & Justice Director Bernadette Schopfer says that The illusive Al Sharpton has a “history of non-compliance” with his taxes.
“It appears that [Sharpton] does not file [taxes for his businesses], and then opens up something else. At all the entities we see he has opened up, he has not been compliant with the obligations of the owner of a business. “
Based on his tax information, Schopfer went as far to say that Sharpton is either “willful” in his tax evasion, or just plain “sloppy”. It is pretty obvious which one he is. Unless, the untouchable Al is willing to admit to sloppiness. However, 'humble' is not one of names that comes to mind, when thinking of Mr. Sharpton.
